DO I NEED TO REGISTER AN ACCOUNT TO MAKE A PURCHASE?
You do not need to register to shop with us. However, by registering an account, you will save time next time you shop with us.
CAN I CHANGE OR CANCEL AN ORDER?
Once your order has been confirmed, cancellation is generally not permitted. Any change to your order needs to be requested within an hour of your order confirmation being received. Please contact us with the order number and the change request details. We will try our best to accommodate your request. Where a change in your order has been approved, the amended order must be equal to or greater in value than the original order.
WHAT IF I HAVE RECEIVED A FAULTY PRODUCT?
All orders are
packaged with care. However, if you feel you have received a faulty
item, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your item. We will
need a photo of the item in question and a description of the fault. We
do not cover damage caused by delivery. Genuine faults will be discussed
with the manufacturer and may need to be returned to the manufacturer
overseas to carry out necessary repairs.
Items are classified as
faulty if they are received damaged due to a manufacturing fault. Please
note that items that are damaged as a result of wear and tear or
damaged by the user are not considered to be faulty. In accordance with
Fair Trading legislation, where possible, we will offer to repair faulty
items. In most cases, we will liaise with the brand in question for
assessment. In some cases the item may need to be returned to the
manufacturer overseas to carry out the necessary assessment and repair.

HOW DO I USE A PROMOTIONAL CODE?

HOW DO I USE A GIFT VOUCHER?
To redeem a Gift Voucher, enter your Gift Voucher code into the Gift Voucher code box, which you will find on the Shopping Bag page. More than one Gift Voucher code can be used per transaction. Gift vouchers purchased from 31 March 2018 are valid for three (3) years* from the date of issue. Gift vouchers purchased prior to 31 March 2018 are valid to the date specified on the Gift Voucher.
* Promotional Gift Vouchers will have different expiry dates. The expiry date on the Promotional Gift Voucher is final. Only one Promotional Gift Voucher can be used per order.
HOW DO DISCOUNT CODES WORK?
Discount codes are valid for the period specified. They cannot be applied to Gift Voucher purchases, cakes, cupcakes and sweets. Discount codes cannot be used to hire a cake stand or to purchase any party or celebration related edible items or decorations. Discount codes can only be applied to in stock items and cannot be used for special orders.
DOES HUMMINGBIRD SWEET THINGS HAVE A REWARDS OR CUSTOMER LOYALTY PROGRAM?
Yes. Spend over $100 in one transaction and receive a stamp. Then on your 6th spend, save 10% on your total purchase price. The Customer Loyalty Program card is valid for six months from the first qualifying spend. The expiry date for 10% off the 6th spend is two months from the date of the last (5th) qualifying spend. Customers cannot use the Customer Loyalty Program card more than once per day. The stamp must be received at the time of purchase, it cannot be requested at a later date.
The Customer Loyalty Program card does not apply to cake stand hire, cakes orders, any party or celebration related edible items or decorations. The Customer Loyalty Program card discount cannot be used to pay for Gift Vouchers, special orders, custom orders, sale items and selected products including genuine python range of shoes, handbags and accessories.
The Customer Loyalty Program is currently only available for in store purchases.
Lost or stolen Customer Loyalty Program cards cannot be replaced or transferred. Keep your Customer Loyalty Program card safe.
The Customer Loyalty Program can be cancelled at any time.
WHAT DO I DO IF THE ITEM I AM LOOKING FOR IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE ONLINE?
popular items do tend to sell out fast online (and may not appear in the drop down box), so if you see something
you must have, be sure to buy it quickly. Most of our products are
handmade and unique. However, if you have missed out, contact us
and will do our best to source a similar item.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DOES HUMMINGBIRD SWEET THINGS ACCEPT?
You can pay for all your purchases using PayPal or direct transfer to our bank account.
WHAT IF MY ORDER IS CONFIRMED BUT I AM CONTACTED THAT AN ITEM IS OUT OF STOCK?
rare occasions a stock item is damaged or missing and we only find out
when we pack your order. Although this does not happen often, in such an
instance, we will contact you.
CAN I GET MY PURCHASE GIFT WRAPPED?
All your purchases have our signature gift wrapping with our compliments.
CAN MY GIFT PURCHASE BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE RECIPIENT?
We can ship your gift to a nominated street address which is different
to the billing address. Just be sure to put your recipients name and
address in the Checkout field & ensure the email address is yours
NOT the recipients' so billing receipts go to you. Also, please write a
comment 'GIFT do not include invoice', in the comment field to ensure a
physical invoice is not sent to your recipient.
DO YOU SHIP AN ORDER TO MORE THAN ONE ADDRESS?
To help everyone keep track of orders, an order cannot be split for shipping purposes. If you would like to purchase for yourself and also for gift deliveries to different addresses, you must place each order separately. Please note that as every item is individually gift wrapped, we can ship a parcel to one address containing your individually gift wrapped items and handwritten cards.
WILL HUMMINGBIRD SWEET THINGS WRITE A MESSAGE IN A GREETING CARD?
We would love to hand write your message in one of our handmade greeting cards. After choosing the card you would like to buy and finalising your order, at the Checkout page write your message in the Comments field and we will hand write your message on your chosen card. This service is complimentary.
WHY DON’T YOU SHIP TO PO BOXES?
We do not ship to PO Boxes as all our parcels are shipped with “signature on delivery”.

CAN I COLLECT MY PURCHASE FROM HUMMINGBIRD SWEET THINGS?

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY JEWELLERY?
All our handmade jewellery is made using cotton rope, silk, natural or
synthetic semi-precious stones, brass, copper, silver, gold and various
wires. It is pretty sturdy but you should take care with it. You should
not pull on the jewellery forcefully and you should try and avoid
crumbling and kinking when storing your jewellery. It is best to lay it
flat in a storage box or drawer when you are not wearing it.
should keep your jewellery out of the rain and elements as well as extreme heat and cold and direct sunlight. You should not swim with your
jewellery or wear it whilst using spa pools, hot tubs and saunas. Just
as chlorine is not good for your jewellery, contact with bleach will
also damage it. Hairspray, perfume,
cosmetics and jewellery are not a good mix. It is best to apply these
products before putting on your jewellery. A
simple damp cloth or jeweller’s cloth will keep your jewellery clean
and shiny and remove any traces of cosmetic product or body oils.
Gold plated jewellery may tarnish or wear away with time and gain an "antique" look. This is a natural quality of gold plating and is not considered faulty. If you prefer the original polished look, your jewellery should be cleaned periodically. Wash gold plated jewellery with warm water. Use a mild soap only if necessary. Be gentle and don't rub too hard. Rigorous rubbing may remove some of the gold plating.
